SUFFOLK-- Two homes were damaged in Suffolk due to a lightning strike Sunday.

Officials say lightning hit a pine tree in the 100 block of Bennetts Creek Landing and 'shot over to the gutters of the home with several entry points' around 8 p.m.

Although there was no fire from the strike, an estimated $5,000 to $10,000 in damage was done to the exterior, along with electronics inside the home.

A neighboring home had damage to a sprinkler system from the same lightning strike.

No injuries were reported.

Power was temporarily off in the neighborhood but has been restored.
