NORFOLK, VA- Taylor Heinicke threw three touchdown passes to lead the White Team to a 21-14 victory in the annual Old Dominion University Spring Game Saturday afternoon at Foreman Field at S.B. Ballard Stadium.

The Spring Game was just a part of an exciting day on ODU's campus, starting with the first-ever Big Blue 5K that was followed by the Big Blue BBQ. Heinicke started the scoring with a 41-yard touchdown pass to Larry Pinkard to put the White Team on team 7-0.

Both defense played well, allowing just the one first half score. Heinicke, David Washington and Colin McElroy were under pressure most of the day, as Andrew Everett had two sacks and Scott Wiggins ended up with one.The White Team made it 14-0 when Heinicke connected with Melvin Vaughn for an acrobatic 25-yard touchdown reception, as Vaughn leaped over a defender to pull down the catch.

David Washington pulled the score to 14-7 when he hit Nick England with a five-yard touchdown pass in the third quarter but Heinicke and the White Team responded with a 19-yard touchdown pass to Zach Pascal to take a 21-7 lead.

The Blue Team cut the deficit to 21-14 when Washington threw a 16-yard touchdown pass to Keshawn Henderson. The Blue Team got the ball back for one last possession, but Washington's final pass in the end zone intended for Jusse Yorke was batted away by the defense to preserve the White Team's win.
