UPDATE: Man arrested after barricading himself inside Beach business
Witnesses say the male suspect walked into ACE Cash Express around 8:30 a.m. It is unclear if anyone else is inside the business.
UPDATE: The suspect, 25-year-old Clarence Brown, was taken into custody without incident, according to police spokesperson Tonya Borman.
An employee locked the suspect in the business and called 9-1-1, Borman said.
Nobody was hurt during the ordeal.
Brown is charged with attempted robbery, abduction and two counts of use of a firearm. He is being held in the Virginia Beach Correctional Center without bond.
VIRGINIA BEACH -- Traffic has been shut down in the 1000 block of Lynnhaven Parkway.

Westbound traffic has been rerouted to Fern Ridge Road. Eastbound traffic is being redirected to Magic Hollow Boulevard.
