CENTREVILLE, Va. (WUSA9) -- On Monday morning, the Sky 9 chopper flew over Interstate 66 where lane stripes are coming up and creating a mess on the roadway.

Traffic anchor Monika Samtani tweeted: 'Oh no! Line stripes are coming apart I-66 EB at Rt29 Centreville..drivers slowing down big time thru the area @wusa9 #vatraffic @VaDOTNOVA'

This is temporary tape striping that peeled up, a VDOT spokesperson said. It was put in over the weekend at the bridge rehab project. A contractor is heading out after rush hour to fix the striping 'as soon as possible.'
