PORTSMOUTH --Two 19-year-old men arrested Thursday for killing a man at a Portsmouth business said Friday they would hire their own attorneys.

Montarius Murry and Kevin Stevens Jr., were arraigned onfirst degree murder charges for the October 6 shooting ofRobert V. Nelson. The suspects' families were in court and had nothing to say after the hearing.

Police sayCrime Line tips ledauthorities to the100 block of Tyler Avenue in Newport News, where the two were arrested by the Newport News Police Department Fugitive Apprehension Unit withassistance of the US Marshal's Capital Area Regional Task Force.

The two were directly indicted fortheNelon's murderinside the Gold Shop on Portsmouth Boulevard.

Nelson, 51, was found deadinside the business atDail's Shoppes shopping center. He was watching the store for a friend who was out of town.

Police say a surveillance camera captured Murry and Stevens running from the store.

Murry and Stevens remain in custody and due back in court on Nov. 22.
