SUFFOLK--Fire totally destroyed a house trailer Tuesday afternoon.

Fire units were called to a residential structure fire in the 2600 block of Whaleyville Boulevard around 12:05 p.m.

There was heavy fire showing when firefighters arrived.

It was initially unclear if anyone was at home. A firefighter was slightly injured when the floor of the trailer gave way as he was searching to make certain no one was inside . He was transported to Sentara Obici Hospital for treatment.

The house trailer was declared a total loss. The Red Cross is assisting one male resident. The Suffolk Fire Marshal's Office is investigating the cause of the fire.
