GLOUCESTER COUNTY - Police are asking for help to catch an intruder who allegedly broke into a woman's home and assaulted her.

The Gloucester County Sheriff's Office says around 1 a.m. on May 20, a woman called 911 and said a man forced his way into her apartment and sexually assaulted her.

The incident happened in the 7500 block of Bellehaven Drive near the Gloucester Point Shopping Center.

Investigators believe a man is lurking around the neighborhood fiddling with doors at odd hours.

According to police, the suspect may have knocked on the victim's door before breaking in.

13News spoke with a young woman who says a man messed with her door and looked in her window.

'My neighbor ran out asking if I was okay, just to check in on me, and I said, 'Yeah, I'm fine. Why?' She said there was a guy, who was like, jiggling at your door and looking through you window,' says the woman who also lives on the 7500 block of Bellehaven Drive.

If you see similar suspicious activity in the Bellehaven Drive area, call police immediately.
