After several days of rain, Hampton Roads will experience below normal temperatures for the next few days. High pressure will build into the region tonight, and settle overhead Wednesday. While this will provide lots of sunshine, it will also allow the temperatures to drop.
The jet stream, the fast-moving band of air that separates the warm air to the south from the cold air to the north, will push farther south, allowing chilly air to move in from Canada.
While temperatures Wednesday will be in the mid 40s, another push of colder air moves in for Thursday, and highs will only be in the mid 30s. Warmer weather returns Saturday, but so does some rain.
