PORTSMOUTH-- Detectives are looking into a shooting that occurred late Friday evening.

Police received a call at 11:41 p.m. last night to respond to a person that appeared to be shot in the 4000 block of Ebbtide Lane.

When officers arrived, they found a man suffering from a gunshot wound in his back. He was then transported to the hospital with non-life threatening injuries, according to police.

Detectives later determined that the man was shot in the 4100 block of Long Point Boulevard and then ran to the 4000 block of Ebbtide Lane.
