HAMPTON ROADS -- Rain, mixed with sleet and snow, continues to fall late this afternoon. Some minor accumulations are possible on grassy areas and elevated surfaces. However, most of the snow should melt on contact.

Temperatures should be in the low 30's tonight for most of the area tonight so don't expect the snow to stick around in most places. Highs tomorrow will be in the lower 40's.

On the Eastern Shore a Winter Weather Advisory is in effect from 7 p.m. to 2 a.m. That part of the viewing area could get one to two inches with a little more potentially closer to the Maryland state line. Travel could become hazardous this evening.

Norfolk spokeswoman Lori Crouch says the city will have a 14-person crew working from 7 p.m. until 7 a.m. with 9 salt/sand spreaders.

'Crews will monitor bridges and overpasses and treat if necessary,' Crouch said.

Stay tuned for updates as needed throughout the day and this evening.
