NEWPORT NEWS -- A Hampton man was arrested Friday for a series of recent bank robberies after police received an anonymous tip.

Investigations linked one suspect to four robberies on the Peninsula between March 28, 2014 and June 13, 2014 based on witness descriptions and evidence at each scene.

The robberies occurred at the following locations:

Reginald Robinson, 51, was taken into custody at his residence in the 5000 block of Evelyn Court in Hampton.

He's charged in York County with attempted robbery and burglary to commit robbery.

Robinson was placed in the custody of the Newport News City Jail and faces robbery charges in Hampton and York County.

'This is another perfect example of what can be accomplished when the community, the media and law enforcement work as a team utilizing the extremely successful Crime Line program,' police officials wrote in a press release.
