SUFFOLK--The second suspect in a series of larcenies from vehicles has been arrested.

16-year-old Shai L. Winfield turned himself in on Monday, police said.

Detectives secured a court order last Friday for Winfield that allowed the release of the teen's information and photo.

Winfield, of the 6000 block of College Drive, is charged with two counts of grand larceny, two counts of conspiracy to commit larceny, seven counts of entering a vehicle to commit a crime, three counts of petit larceny and three counts of attempted petit larceny.

Police say that Kempton D. Whitney and Winfield were observed entering vehicles in the Burbage Grant community on the morning of July 5.

Items were located in the suspect vehicle that had been stolen from cars in the community.

Seventeen warrants are on file for Whitney, 20, who turned himself later Friday, on charges including grand larceny, several counts of petit larceny, contributing to the delinquency of a minor and several counts of entering or setting a vehicle in motion.
