PORTSMOUTH -- The new courts complex for the City of Portsmouth is open for business.
The dedication and ribbon cutting was held at 1:00 p.m. Friday.
The three-story, 207,000-square foot complex at 415 Port Centre Parkway cost $78 million and contains 12 courtrooms, space for the Sheriff's and the Commonwealth's Attorney's offices.
It replaces the old complex built in 1970, which had problems with leaks and asbestos.
City officials stress the project came in on time and on budget.
