VIRGINIA BEACH - Police say a man returned an $800 bird that had been stolen from a pet store in Va. Beach.

Investigators says 31-year-old Charles Leo Frueh and 29-year-old Chaunda Sue Dickerson were seen on surveillance with the White Bellied Caiqueat Animal Jungle on Holland Road on Oct. 13.

Workers realized it was missing the next morning.

Frueh returned the bird on November 14, police said, and Dickerson was arrested at a home in Norfolk.

Both face a grand larceny charge.

Store officials said the bird had already been purchased by a family and it was being nursed until it could eat regular food. At that point, it would go home with the family that bought it.
