NEWPORT NEWS -- A Newport News man was arrested Friday for allegedly stalking and threatening three young girls while they were waiting at the school bus stop.

Police say 56-year-old Vandarren Walker threatened to rape and shoot a 9 and 10-year-old girl Thursday as they waited for the bus near Regency Square Apartments on Jefferson Ave.

A third girl, who is 11 years old, also came forward with the same accusations.

According to police, the victims took Walker's threats seriously and told the bus driver, who told them what they needed to report the incident at school.

Police say Walker also threatened the the girls on April 20.

Walker is charged with three counts of stalking and two counts of assault. He is being held on no bond.
