7/16 UPDATE: Chesapeake police say Shillelagh Road is back open after crews worked through the night to repair a sinkhole there.
CHESAPEAKE -- A sinkhole shut down a portion of Shillelagh Road in Chesapeake Tuesday morning.
Crews responded to the call in the 1200 block of Shillelagh Road around 8 a.m., according to city spokesperson Kelly O'Sullivan.
Officials say that's where a 2 to 3 foot sinkhole formed in the middle of the street. The road has been shut down in both directions as crews investigate.
