Missing 4 year-old girl from Missouri located in Chesapeake with grandmother
CHESAPEAKE -- A 4 year-old child missing from Missouri was found unharmed by Chesapeake Police on Sunday morning after they received information that the girl might be in their city.
According to a news release, the department received a request from a detective in Cuba, Missouri asking for help in locating a missing child. The information the detective provided indicated that the child was with her paternal grandmother, 60 year-old Terry Denise Omeni, at the Value Place Inn located on Sentinel Drive in Chesapeake.
Officers went to the hotel and located Omeni, as well as the child.
According to our sister station, KSDK, the Cuba Police Department issued an endangered person advisory for a missing person incident that occurred at 800 Fleenor Rd in Cuba, Mo on July 16.
Sabrina Omeni, 4, was allowed to visit her grandmother, Terry Omeni, but was not returned home on July 21. Terry Omeni became agitated by phone calls from Sabrina's mother and subsequently changed her phone number. Attempted contact by Sabrina's mother or law enforcement had been unsuccessful since July 21.
Police said Omeni was taken into custody for an outstanding Fraud warrant from Dover, Delaware and a warrant is pending from Missouri for the child abduction. She's being held at Chesapeake City Jail pending extradition.
They placed the child into the custody of Chesapeake Child Protective Services.
Police said they had no other information about the incident.
