Live coverage of the McDonnell trial

RICHMOND--The Richmond Priest who has provided a place to stay to Governor Bob McDonnell during his federal corruption trial says he is concerned about the family's privacy.

Father Wayne Ball, pastor of Saint Patrick's Catholic Church, declined 13 News Now's request for an interview Wednesday, as, sixteen blocks away, jurors deliberated the fate of McDonnell and his wife Maureen who are charged in a 14-count indictment. They face up to 70 years in prison.

Ball said he has 'fastidiously avoided the press' throughout the 5-week trial, and he's not going to start talking now.

But Church Hill neighbors are. Carol Patterson said McDonnell's presence 'does put a bit of a wrinkle' into neighborhood life, although she says, 'He had not been very visible.

Meanwhile, down at the federal courthouse on Broad Street, the waiting continues for a verdict as the jury wades through testimony from 67 witnesses.
