Rep. Rigell's office released a statement Wednesday regarding the news.
'The upcoming congressional election will be about jobs, the economy and excessive federal spending issues that Congressman Scott Rigell has worked very effectively to address. He is a leader and an aggressive advocate in changing Washington, working with both Republicans and Democrats to fix a dysfunctional Congress. He believes deeply in leading by example as he serves and represents our community, and looks forward to sharing his record of job creation and congressional reform throughout this campaign.'
