HAMPTON-- A 15 year old boy was shot in the head Thursday night. He was rushed to the hospital with possible life threatening injuries but police now say his condition has improved.

Police were called just before 8 p.m to the convenience store in the 300 blk of Mercury boulevard and found the boy with a single gunshot wound to the head.

The shooting actually happened on Theodore Street which runs right behind the 7-Eleven on Mercury Boulevard at Pembroke Avenue.

The boy was found in a grassy area next to the 7-Eleven. It's believed the shooting had no connection with the convenience store.

According to Sgt. Jason Price, there is no suspect info or motive at the present time.

The investigation is on-going.
