NORFOLK- Injured service members are hitting the streets of Norfolk to take part in The Warrior Ride.

The Warrior Ride is a non-profit organization that conducts morale building events, such as adaptive bicycling, for service members to have fun, be with their peers, be honored and be physically challenged.

Several riders are using specially-designed bicycles and three wheel recumbent bikes.

The rides are coordinated by Bob Racine, The Warrior Ride founder and president and a Vietnam War veteran, who started the adaptive bicycling event in 2005.

The Hampton Roads Tour started Thursday with riders cycling from Naval Station Norfolk to Joint Expeditionary Base Little Creek-Fort Story. On Friday, they'll head to Fentress Airfield and ride through rural Chesapeake. Saturday, the tour wraps up with cycling from Naval Air Station Oceana to other parts of Va. Beach.
