UPDATE 4:00 p.m.: Police have identified the suspect at 31-year-old Ayenda Hodges of Norfolk.

Police say Hodges has two outstanding warrants for probation violations. Further charges are pending.

Hodges has a laundry-list of charges agaist him dating from 2000 including cocaine possession, grand larceny and resisting arrest.

UPDATE 2:15 p.m.: The suspect walked out of the apartment around 2:15 and was arrested.

CHESAPEAKE-Chesapeake Police say a man wanted for probation violations in two cities ran off during a traffic stop and is holed up in an apartment.

Police have been on the scene on Fireside Road all morning.

The incident started around 8:20 a.m. when officers pulled the man over at Campostella Road and Parkside Drive. They say he ran off and went into a friend's apartment.

A police negotiator is asking the man to come out. One of the statements made was 'Mr. Hodge, come to the blinds. We want to end this peacefully and give you the chance to see your family.'

Authorities believe he's alone in the apartment.

Though they have not released his name, police say he's wanted in Norfolk and Portsmouth.
