NEWPORT NEWS - Get in your walking shoes and lace up your running shoes to help support wounded servicemembers in Hampton Roads and their families.
The Spouses' Club of Fort Eustis is hosting at 5K and 10K Warrior Run, Kids Fun Run and other activities on Saturday, April 26, at Anderson Field House on the Army post.
Besides helping our wounded heroes, some of the money will help fund the club's scholarship and welfare grants that are given out each May.
If you like to compete but running isn't your thing, go to the Pre-Registration event on 25 April from 1 p.m. to 8 p.m. at Quaker Steak & Lube on Warwick Blvd. in Newport News. Teams of 10 representing each branch of the military will compete for the glory of Coop's Cadence Champion 2014. Each team will be given a word and 30 minutes to create a cadence based on that word and perform. The champion will be chosen through crowd appreciation.
