NORFOLK--Dominion Virginia and North Carolina Power crews from Hampton Roads will leave Friday morning to help crews in New Jersey as a massive winter storm is expected to slam the northeast.

Spokeswoman Bonita Harris says the crews are preparing for a 2-week deployment.

'Two bucket trucks, a regular truck and about 60 employees will be assisting 1st Energy with restoration efforts in and around Morristown, New Jersey,' she states.

That area that earlier this year was hard hit by Hurricane Sandy.

Crews from Dominion Virginia Power offices in Norfolk, Virginia Beach, Chesapeake/Suffolk, Ahoskie, Roanoke Rapids, and Albemarle will be heading north to help.

The storm is poised to dump up to 3 feet of snow from New York City to Boston and beyond beginning Friday.
