YORK COUNTY -- A York County girl says a man who looks like the sketch of the Isle of Wight abduction suspect approached her last week.

According to Lt. Dennis Ivey with the York County Sheriff's Office, a white man drove up to a girl in the 200 block of Skimino Road around 3:15 p.m. on Nov. 12 and attempted to have her get in the car with him.

Ivey says the girl said no and when a parent began to approach the vehicle the suspect drove away.

The vehicle was described as a silver, two-door Chevrolet Cavalier.

The report was made on Nov. 18.

Deputies are increasing patrols in the area and investigators are also sharing information with the Isle of White Sheriff's Office, Ivey said.

Ivey also said that on Nov. 15, a parent reported that a heavy-set black male, who was driving gold four-door sedan had been seen several times near bus stops in the Skimino Hills area between 8 and 9 a.m.

Ivey said the man has been seen watching and possibly taking pictures of the kids. The vehicle has been described to have either dirty or tinted windows and may have some dents or damage.

York-Poquoson Sheriff Danny Diggs added, 'People who are pedophiles or child molesters would go to any lengths to find a child and maybe the heat is on in Isle of Wight and he needs to get away from that area.'

Anyone with information on either of these incidents is asked to call the Crime Line at 1-888-LOCK-U-UP.
