VIRGINIA BEACH-Right after Christmas, the Pungo-Blackwater Library in Va. Beach will close so crews can to fix the water system.

Since September, bacteria levels in the water have been too high, so the water will be disinfected.

The problem also affects nearby Creeds Elementary School and the Senior Resource Center, which use the same water system.

School officials said Creeds ESstudents and staff use bottled water, hand sanitizer to wash their hands in bathrooms and classroom sinks and the cafeteria staff only prepares food that doesn't require water. Also, pots, pans and silverware are being cleaned at another location.

The school is closed for winter break right now.

A boil water has been in effect since the problem was discovered and won't be lifted until the bacteria count gets to safe levels.
