UPDATE 1/7 5:30 p.m.: Suffolk Police say traffic has been alternated and is flowing in both directions on the westbound side of Pruden Boulevard/Route 460 as crews work to right the overturned tractor trailer.
The accident at the ramp coming off the Franklin Bypass/Route 58 is expected to clear by 5:30 p.m. as crews work to right the overturned log truck and contain a fuel leak.
SUFFOLK -- Emergency crews responded to two separate single-vehicle accidents involving overturned tractor trailers in Suffolk Tuesday.
Police say a tractor trailer overturned in the 4100 block of Pruden Boulevard/Route 460 near the Pruden Center around 1:30 p.m.
The driver was taken Sentara Obici Hospital with non-life threatening injuries.
Both eastbound lanes are closed and traffic is being alternated into one of the westbound travel lanes. This traffic pattern is anticipated for the next several hours, officials said.
Crews responded to another accident involving an overturned tractor trailer on the ramp coming off the Franklin Bypass/Route 58 onto Papermill Road from Franklin around 1:30 p.m.
No injuries were reported in this incident.
The ramp is currently closed.
The cause of the both accidents is under investigation.
