NORFOLK -- Your favorite sandwich, soup or dessert at Panera Bread comes with something new -- calorie information.

Officials say they want customers to make informed decisions about what they're eating.

Seeing the caloriesmade Dave Donis change his mind when he ordered on Thursday.

'I like it cause I'm trying to lose a few extra pounds, so I looked at the calorie counts and I decided on the breakfast power sandwich today because it's 360 as opposed to some of the others that were 500 or so,' he said.

While Panera has had a nutritional book for interested customers, the information is now available at a glance.

Interestingly, Health Care Reform requires restaurants with more than 20 locations to made calorie information available to customers.
