The carrier, commanded by Capt. Dee L. Mewbourne, traveled nearly 60,000 miles after leaving Norfolk on Jan. 13th to support theater security cooperation and maritime security cooperation efforts in the U.S. 5th and 6th Fleet areas of responsibility.

During the deployment, USS Enterprise held 15 captured pirates responsible for killing four Americans on the private yacht Quest off Oman in February. The remains of the four were also taken aboard the carrier.
