NEWPORT NEWS Curtis Brandon Cordle, an inmate who walked away from a prison farm Wednesday morning, turned himself in around 8pm Wednesday night.

He is currently in the custody of the Newport News City jail.

Authorities searched for Cordle most of the day.

Wednesday morning about 9:15, Cordle, 25, escaped from the Newport News City Prison Farm in the Denbigh area.

He arrived at the farm last Wednesday and was serving a seven-month sentence for grand larceny.

Authorities locked down the farm and searched the area but did not find Cordle.
