UPDATE 3/10 11:35 a.m. : Police say the materials found in a barn are consistent with the manufacturing of methamphetamine.

The owner told 13News Now her husband found the materials in their barn and immediately reported it to police. She says somebody must have broken into their barn within the past week.

The evidence was collected and the scene was cleaned by the Chesapeake Fire Department and the State Police.

The case is currently under investigation. If anyone has information about this incident they are encouraged to call, text or submit an on-line tip to the Chesapeake Crime Line.

CHESAPEAKE -- Members of the police department's Special Investigations Section (Narcotics Unit) found hazardous materials at a location along Indian Creek Road Sunday.

Officer Leo Kosinski said they went to the location in the 700 block of Indian Creek to conduct an investigation. He could not specify the nature of the investigation, but said when the officers came across the hazardous materials, they contacted the Chesapeake Fire Department to handle clean-up.

Kosinski said there was no danger to the public and that police have not filed criminal charges at this time.

The investigation continues.
