If there was an award for most efficient football player, Tee McConnell would win it. Instead, we'll name him our HS Gametime Athlete of the Week.

How efficient? McConnell is the quarterback for the Poquoson Islanders. He only complete five passes last Friday night.

However four of them went for touchdowns in the Islanders 35-0 win over New Kent. Poquoson ran for 269 and only passed for 68 but, went through the air when it counted.

Two of the touchdown passes went to Clark Schurz and two more went to Luke Hill. But, that's only part of the story.

McConnell also stars on defense. He intercepted his ninth pass in nine games this season. It's fair to say he's at the heart of Poquoson's big season so far.

The Islanders are alone at the top of the Bay Rivers District and are all but a lock to be the number two seed in the Regional Playoffs in two weeks.
