PORTSMOUTH--EVMS held its second annual Healthy Hampton Leadership Summit Friday, focusing on the struggle with obesity.

Topics covered everything from Portsmouth's Healthy Initiative to combating obesity in early childhood.

'It's getting bigger. The longer that I am in the field the more I am seeing. But the good news is we're coming together at events like this, we're talking about it, people are getting the message out and we're starting to see change happening so that's every encouraging,' said Katie Humphrey, Health Services of Western Tidewater.

The summit was coordinated by the Consortium for Infant and Child Health at EVMS.
