UPDATE 12/31: Hundreds of 13News Now viewers called, emailed and posted Facebook messages wanting to help Willie and Marie Jacocks after seeing their story Monday.

John and Brigitte May from NSD Commercial were one of more than 100 families offering to help. 'They didn't have to live in fear,' said Mrs. May. 'We'll fix it.' They're providing a new steel door.

Atlantic Bay Mortgage is providing another door and improved lighting.

One family is even setting up a security system and paying the monthly fee for the couple.

'God is with me and I know I have no more worries once this is all setup,' Mrs. Jacocks said Tuesday.

Two men drove all the way from Gloucester early Tuesday morning to deliver cash.

After receiving a call from one supporter Monday night, Mrs. Jacocks said she was able to sleep through the night - which she hasn't been able to do in years.

The couple will even get a new laptop.

NORFOLK---An elderly couple is living in fear after burglars hit their home twice in two months.

The most recent break-in was just days before Christmas. The thieves stole two laptops filled with memories of Marie and Willie Jacocks' late daughter.

'We wanted to enjoy our last year, because we've had a happy life together,' Marie said. 'But this has ruined it.'

Police haven't caught the burglars, who may be responsible for a string of burglaries in the area since September.

The couple lives off Weiss Lane. They now need a new door but because the family lives with a fixed income, they can't afford a replacement.

The couple was also hoping to also get a security system.

Willie, at almost 90 years old, tried installing his own dead bolt lock on the broken door Monday afternoon.
