RICHMOND (AP) -- First lady Michelle Obama is set to make campaign stops in Hampton and Petersburg as Election Day nears.

She spoke at an afternoon rally at Hampton University's Holland Hall and Virginia State University.

Campaign officials said Friday that all tickets for the rally had been given out.

Michelle Obama is the latest in a string of Virginia visits by the presidential and vice presidential nominees and their closest supporters ahead of Tuesday's election.

Polls show Virginia among the last handful of states where the election is a toss-up. In 2008, President Barack Obama became the first Democratic presidential candidate to carry Virginia since 1964.
