PORTSMOUTH - How long would you wait in line to get breakfast? For dozens of people, 24 hours or more was worth it because they wanted to be among the first to eat at the new Chick-fil-A in Portsmouth.

It opened Thursday morning at 6:00 a.m. at 901 Frederick Blvd., near the intersection with Airline Blvd., and100 adults vied to be among those to get certificates for free food for a year.

Dozens of people were camped out in the parking lot on Wednesday - sort of the fast-food restaurant version of a tailgate party.
