SUFFOLK -- 'She was crying, said 2 guys had barged in with guns, put her in the closet, asked her for the money, and said they was gonna kill her and her kids,' recalled Vanessa, who asked 13News to protect her identity.

April 12 at about 10:15 p.m., Vanessa's cousin ran from her home to Vanessa's at Heritage Acres Apartments off Nansemond Parkway. The cousin was looking for help.

'She was crying. The kids was crying. Kids didn't have no clothes on. She was hysterical. I mean, it was just, it was just chaos,' Vanessa said.

Police officers said two people with weapons rushed into the victim's unit. Before leaving, they got cash from her. They also got her debit card and the Personal Identification Number that goes with it.

Suffolk Police released security camera images from an ATM showing a man they believe was one of the home invaders using using the victim's bank debit card.

'Whoever did that, I hope they catch 'em,' Vanessa said. 'It was messed up, and she had kids in there, and that's the thing we think about is scary, 'cause we all have kids around here. It's a neighborhood full of kids.'

Suffolk Police Department asks anyone with information about the crime to contact Detective Gonzalez at 757-514-7945 or call Crime Line at 1-888-LOCK-U-UP.
