CHESAPEAKE -- Chesapeake Police are questioning a person of interest following the death of a woman found in her Chesapeake home.

Around 3:30 p.m. Thursday, police arrived on Welcome Road to check on 22-year-old Avatiena Wesley and say they found her with a stab wound to her chest.

Police say they have a person of interest in custody, but no charges have been filed. For now, police are calling the case a possible homicide.

Wesley's family say she dedicated her life to raising her young son and studying nursing.

'Her heart went out to the people. That's why she became a nurse, she wanted to do something that impacted somebody,' said Estilla McGilberry, Wesley's great aunt.
