MADISON COUNTY - A Newport News man accused of killing three of his family members was due to be arraigned Monday.

Rashad Matthew Riddick is charged with three counts of capital murder after being found competent to stand trial following the alleged triple murder back in 2011.

Authorities say he shot his aunt, uncle and their 26-year-old daughter in 2011.

In 2012, a judge ruled Riddick couldn't go on trial because he had a rare, delusional disorder and was ordered to Central State Hospital for treatment. That same year, Riddick attacked his attorney in court.

In June 2013, a judge reviewed the case and ruled Riddick was capable of assisting his attorneys and competent to stand trial.

The hearing was scheduled for the morning docket, according to onilne court records for Madison County Circuit Court.
