NORFOLK -- A house in Norfolk went up in flames early Tuesday.

Firefighters were called to the 1000 block of Clements Avenue just before 2:30 a.m. by someone who saw smoke and flames coming from the home, said Battalion Chief Julian Williamson.

He says the home, which is vacant and undergoing renovations, was badly damaged.

The cause of the fire is under investigation.
