VIRGINIA BEACH-- Three men have been arrested after allegedly stealing jewelry and firearms from more than 16 homes in Virginia Beach since October.

Police say two of the suspects were burglarizing a home in the 1300 block of Lake James Drive Wednesday when a neighbor called police. The suspects were chased by officers and arrested near the scene. The third suspect was later arrested at his home in Norfolk.

Police arrested 19-year-old Devon Dontel Thompson and 22-year-old Robert Lee Hamilton III, both of Norfolk, and charged them with 14 counts of burglary and conspiracy, and 13 counts of grand larceny and possession of burglarious tools.

Also arrested was 19-year-old Keith Alan Perry of Norfolk. Perry is charged with 9 counts of burglary and conspiracy, and eight counts of grand larceny.

The suspects are being held at the Virginia Beach Correctional Center without bond. More charges are pending.

  • 5800 Tajo Avenue
  • 1100 Capstone Crossing
  • 500 Harton Circle
  • 400 Cranston Lane (2 cases)
  • 5500 Spider Court
