Emmy-award winning actor James Gandolfini, best known for his portrayal of Tony Soprano on the HBO mobster drama 'The Sopranos,' has died. He was 51.

Gandolfini reportedly died of a heart attack while vacationing in Rome.

Gandolfini played conflicted mob boss Tony Soprano in the groundbreaking HBO series that aired from 1999 to 2007.
