FORT EUSTIS - Comrades, friends and family gathered at Fort Eustis in Newport News for a memorial for a soldier killed in Afghanistan.

Sgt. Justin Johnson was one of four soldiers killed June 18 by indirect fire. He was at the entry control point of Bagram Air Base, the Army said.

Sgt. Johnson, who hailed from Florida, was assigned to 359th Transportation Company and had deployed in January.

The service started at 1:30 p.m. at the Fort Eustis Regimental Chapel.
