Audience member Cynthia tells Dr. Oz that as she gets older, her hair is getting thinner, and she asks Dr. Oz what she can do.

Dr. Oz asks Cynthia a couple questions, and explains that people are supposed to lose about 10% of their hair intermittently. Dr. Oz goes on to state that Cynthia should make sure her hormones are ok, check thyroid and electrolyte levels, and take Biotin (a water-soluble B-complex vitamin B7, which is necessary for cell growth, the production of fatty acids, and the metabolism of fats and amino acids).

Dr. Oz also recommends that Cynthia be careful with some harsh shampoos, as their fragrances can sometimes damage the scalp.
