NORFOLK - Police say an argument turned violent outside a housing complex in Norfolk late Monday.

Police were called to the 400 block of Harvard Street around 11:00 p.m. and they found28-year-old Lionel Vernon on the groundin the courtyard area.

According to police spokesman Officer Chris Amos, Vernon and the suspect were arguing when shots rang out.

The suspect is in custody, but his name hasn't been released. Murder and use of a firearm charges are pending.
