NORFOLK-- The line was long at Military Circle mall and Operation Homefront organizers said that's what it's all about.

'We know that it's been a rough year for a lot of families. The economy hasn't settled out for them,' Carol Berg said.

Operation Homefront distributes gifts to military families each holiday season. Saturday about 100 local families got two toys for each child and a movie gift certificate. Dollar Tree donates millions of toys each year to Operation Homefront nationwide.

'It's going to help a lot because money is tight. I am in school full time, and not working. So it's going to come in handy. My kids love the blocks and puzzles,' mom Taquia Brown remarked.
