NORFOLK -- Sequestration could impact more than military families and shipyard workers.

Small businesses that rely on the military for income could also take a hit.

Rodney McKeithan is concerned that his barber shop, Custom Kutz, near Naval Station Norfolk could see a decline in business due to sequestration.

McKeithan bought the shop a couple years ago knowing that he would get a great deal of business from military personnel and civilians who work at the base.

'Any types of cuts down here being that we serve the majority anybody that comes down to the base it's definitely going to be felt, extremely,' said McKeithan.

Governor McDonnell is urging immediate action to prevent looming cuts in federal defense spending.

The governor says Northern Virginia and Hampton Roads are at the greatest risk if the cuts are implemented, and could force Virginia and other states into a recession.
