NORFOLK - For the third time in two months and the second time this week, someone set fire in a vacant house in Norfolk, investigators say.
Friday morning, firefighters were back at 232 Glendale Avenue, off Hampton Blvd., after smoke was rising through the roof.
Investigators say this fire started under the home.
On Wednesday morning, fire started on first floor, spread to second floor and went through a hole in the roof caused by the first fire on March 1.
On March 1, crews found a suspicious fire at the same home. After that fire, which made a hole in the roof, a tarp was placed on the roof to cover a hole, said Capt. Mike Hicks.
Investigators called all the fires suspicious because there's no power to the two-story home.
Hicks said the property owner lives in Hawaii.
The 200 block of Glendale Avenue was blocked around 7:15 a.m. for the firefight.
Fire investigators were canvassing the neighborhood in hopes someone saw something that can help in the investigation.
