HAMPTON -- Police say Ronald A. Fladger died after being struck by a vehicle early Saturday morning.

Around 5:30 a.m. police responded to the intersection of 52nd Street and Aberdeen Road in regards to a man lying in the roadway.

Officers and members of Fire and Rescue responded to the area. Crews discovered a man lying in the northbound lanes of Aberdeen Road.

59-year-old Fladger was transported to a local hospital where he was pronounced dead around 7:30 a.m.

According to police, witnesses heard a loud noise and spotted a blue four door sedan leaving the area, traveling south on Aberdeen Road.
