UPDATE 12/18/14: Tremaine Porter, 27, was convicted of raping three women was sentenced to four life sentences and 113 years.
Porter was found guilty of raping a 55 year old Franklin woman in January 2013. The victim was walking home from church when Porter abducted her at gun point and raped her behind a privacy fence. As previously reported on January 3, 2013, the victim ran to a neighbor's home for help carrying nothing but her Bible.
Porter also raped two women in July 2013. One victim, a juvenile known to Porter, was abducted, threatened and raped.
He forcefully broke into the second victim's home where he physically assaulted, raped and sexually abused her. She was later treated at Southampton Memorial Hospital for her injuries.
The Franklin Police Department investigated these cases and through their efforts were able to obtain the evidence that connected Porter to the New Year's rape.
FRANKLIN-- A Suffolk man is charged with the rape and abduction of a Franklin woman on New Year's night.
26-year-old Tremaine M. Porter was already in jail, accused of raping a juvenile and a 48-year-old woman in Franklin in July, police said.
Around 2:00 a.m. on January 1, the 55-year-old woman was walking home from a church service when a man pulled a gun, tried to rob her and then raped her. Police say Porter was the man was attacked her in the area of Armory Dr. and Gardner St.
Porter is now charged with rape, abduction with intent to defile, object sexual penetration, possession of a firearm by a violent convicted felon, and three counts of use of a firearm in commission of a felony.
